Legal Definition of a Veteran

"Veterans are defined as anyone who has served for at least one day in HM Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve) or Merchant Mariners who have seen duty in legally defined military operations. There are currently 2.4 million veterans in Great Britain."

Vision

To carry out activities which benefit the community, and in particular (without limitation), to the UK Armed Forces Community of Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.

As a registered charity, we’re all about helping veterans and their families to feel included and supported. We also support serving personnel and their family, who are in their last year of Service. We don’t want anyone to feel left out or isolated, so we’re here to offer support when it’s needed and help them find their place in the community.

Aims

  • Enable veterans and their families to gain access to and choice of quality opportunities
  • Improve access to information on issues that affect the Armed Forces Community
  • Enable people, employers and communities to respect and meet individual needs
  • Empower the Armed Forces Community to make a difference to issues that affect their lives
  • Make a positive impact to the Armed Forces Community who are often overlooked

Objectives

  • To provide expert advice and guidance to the Armed Forces Community on issues that affect their lives
  • To support the mental health and wellbeing of the Armed Forces Community
  • To empower individuals to acknowledge, talk about and address their health issues, including facilitating access to other services
  • To provide programmes of training and support to individuals to overcome personal barriers
  • To advocate on behalf of the Armed Forces Community
